Injury Management

To ensure optimal care and streamline your injury management process, take the time to outline a list of preferred medical providers and communicate these designations to your employees.

  • Initial care provider, occupational medicine clinic, urgent care clinic or primary care physician should be used for treating occupational injuries that are not likely to result in loss of life.
  • Hospital or emergency room should be used for treating severe or life-threatening injuries. Designating more than one emergency care facility may be necessary if your employees work at offsite locations.
  • If the employee travels, provide a map of approved providers in the area.
  • Develop an emergency communication plan for job sites located in rural areas.
